Caitlyn is headed to the manor to visit her cousin who is still recuperating when she gets caught in a downpour. When she arrives at the manor when James Fitzroy open the door for her. He tells the head housekeeper to get her a change of clothes so she will be dry while she visits.
Mrs Brixton gave her an old maids uniform and told Caitlyn to find her own way to wherever she needed to go. When Caitlyn was bringing her wet clothes, she overheard Mrs. Brixton blackmailing one of the maids in order to keep her job.
That night, Caitlyn is visited by the local constable because Mrs. Brixton was murdered, and Caitlyn was one of the last ones to see her alive.
There is an uproar in the village because Mags chocolates have been chosen to be included in the desserts for the Summer Garden Party, and some of the locals are determined that nobody will be allowed to eat them.
With several suspects having motive to kill Mrs. Brixton, it's up to Caitlyn to find the real murderer and also to help get more business in to Mags chocolate shop.
Another fun story from H.Y. Hanna with well defined characters and several twist, along with a surprise ending that is better for Caitlyn, Mags, and the whole town in the long run.
I purchased my copy of this second book in the series immediately after reading the first book. I was offered free copies by the author, H Y Hanna, but being impatient, I bought my own. They were more than worth the price, except, like the magically delicious chocolate in the book, two isn't enough. I'm hungry for the third.
Anyway, about the book in this one, our heroine, Caitlyn, is in the village of Tillyhenge, still investigating the mystery of her parentage, when the housekeeper of the manor is murdered. As you can guess without even starting the book, she's a suspect. Although I enjoyed this book even more than the first, I took off one star because there are references that the reader can only really understand by reading the first book. Do NOT let that dissuade you! Read them both! Even if like me you're really not into paranormal mysteries. It's entertaining. It's delicious. It's got a sweet, slobbering English mastiff, a delightfully, mischievous kitten, and lots of chocolate. Plus murder. What fun!

In this second volume, we find Caitlyn Le Fey, still staying above the Chocolate shop in a small town in the Cotswolds of England.
Caitlyn had found out she had magical abilities with Chocolate...lucky gal. But, still the one search Caitlyn was still looking for was...just who was her Mother and Father. Could she be the granddaughter of Widow Mags? Her adoptive cousin, Pomona is staying at the Huntingdon Manor just outside of the village of Tillyhenge. Of Course with that village name, there is a circle of stones, and just what their power is another quest for the shy redhead.
When the Manor suffers a mysterious murder of their Housekeeper, theft of jewelry, and strange produce in the Greenhouse, Caitlyn becomes a suspect and has to figure out the crimes.
This story is a marvelous mix of murder and fantasy. Who knows though, perhaps their are Chocolate Witches? I hope so. Now, I must await April 2017 for the next installment. You can be sure I will buy my own copy!
